SA 8000 or Social Accountability 8000 is based on international standards grounded on the principles of core ILO (International Labour Organizations) conventions, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The fundamental focus of SA 8000 is on the advancement of workers’ human rights by promoting decent work conditions, labor rights, and corporate social responsibility through voluntary standards without sacrificing business interests.
